Things to Know
- Scanned PDFs (image-based) cannot be converted to RTF — there is no text to extract. Run OCR on the scanned PDF first using Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, or ABBYY FineReader, then convert the text-based output to RTF.
- PDF-to-RTF conversion is never 100% layout-perfect. For complex documents, extracting the text content and re-applying formatting manually in Word often produces a cleaner result than conversion.
