Drag & Drop Your JPG File Here

JPEG is the most common photo format in the world — every smartphone, digital camera, and web download produces .jpg files. Converting a JPEG to PDF is one of the most frequent document tasks for contracts with photo IDs, scanned documents, real estate photos for reports, and any time you need an image in a format that cannot be casually edited.

This tool converts JPG to PDF directly in your browser with no quality loss beyond what is already in the JPEG source.

How to Convert JPG to PDF

  1. Upload your .jpg or .jpeg file. The tool accepts files up to 100MB — most smartphone JPEGs are 2–8MB, well within this limit.
  2. Check the preview to confirm the image loaded correctly and is the right orientation.
  3. Click Convert. The JPEG is embedded in a PDF page sized to fit.
  4. Download the PDF. To combine multiple JPEGs into one PDF, convert each and use the Merge PDF tool.

JPG to PDF: Size and Quality Reference

JPEG source Resolution JPEG file size PDF output size

DSLR photo (high quality) 24–60MP 8–25MB 10–30MB

Things to Know

  • JPEG is a lossy format — some quality was lost when the photo was first saved as JPEG. Converting to PDF does not add any additional quality loss, but it also cannot recover detail that was already compressed away.
  • Photos taken on a phone in portrait orientation sometimes appear sideways in the PDF because the rotation is stored as EXIF metadata. Rotate in your Photos app before uploading if this happens.
  • JPEG does not support transparency. If you need the image on a specific background, the PDF will always have a white background behind any transparent-looking areas.
  • If you are converting scanned documents — bank statements, contracts, utility bills — the output PDF will be an image PDF, not a searchable text PDF. Use OCR software like Adobe Acrobat or Google Drive to make it text-searchable.

Common Questions

How do I convert a JPG file to PDF?

Upload your .jpg or .jpeg file and click Convert. The tool embeds the image in a PDF page and you can download it immediately. Free, no account needed.

How do I combine multiple JPGs into one PDF?

Convert each JPG to a separate PDF using this tool, then use the Merge PDF tool to combine them into a single multi-page document. Each JPG becomes one page.

Why is my photo sideways in the PDF?

JPEG stores rotation as EXIF metadata, not as actual pixel rotation. Open the photo in your phone’s Photos app or any image editor, rotate it correctly, save, and upload again.

Is JPG to PDF conversion lossless?

The conversion itself does not add quality loss — the JPEG is embedded in the PDF as-is. However, JPEG is already a lossy format, so any compression artifacts in the original file will still be visible in the PDF.
